Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Stadium View.
- ACCA
- Short for accumulator; a single bet combining four or more selections where all must win — offers higher potential returns but any losing leg voids the entire bet.
- Antepost Odds
- Prices offered on future events — such as a team winning the group stage — set well in advance, often before squads or fixtures are fully confirmed.
- Asian Handicap
- A betting format that eliminates the draw by giving one team a virtual goal advantage or deficit, resulting in only two possible outcomes and tighter odds.
- Both Teams to Score
- A market, abbreviated BTTS, where you bet on whether both sides will score at least one goal during the match, regardless of the final scoreline.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle an open bet before the match ends in exchange for a reduced return, allowing partial profit-taking or loss limitation.
- Correct Score
- A high-odds market requiring you to predict the exact final scoreline; margins are wide and returns can be large, but accuracy demands are strict.
- Dead Heat
- Occurs when two or more selections finish in equal position — common in Golden Boot markets — resulting in the stake being divided proportionally across tied outcomes.
- Double Chance
- A market covering two of the three possible results (home win/draw, away win/draw, or home/away win) in a single bet, lowering risk at the cost of reduced odds.
- Draw No Bet
- A market that removes the draw as a possible outcome — if the match ends level, your stake is refunded rather than lost.
- Extra Time Bet
- A market specific to the knockout phase where odds apply only to the additional 30-minute period played after a 90-minute draw, excluding the penalty shootout.
- First Goalscorer
- A bet on which individual player will score the very first goal of a given match; odds are higher for defenders and goalkeepers than for forwards.
- Golden Boot Market
- A futures bet on which player will finish the tournament as its leading scorer; odds account for a nation's fixtures and the striker's baseline output.
- Group Stage Qualifier
- A market predicting which teams will advance from a given group into the round of 16, typically listed as a combination of top-two finish options.
- Handicap Betting
- A market giving the weaker team a virtual head start in goals before kick-off, levelling the betting field and providing more competitive odds on favourites.
- HT/FT
- Half-Time/Full-Time double result market where you predict the leading team at the break and the winner at full time — both must be correct to win.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is actively being played; odds shift in real time based on goals, red cards, and match momentum.
- Lay Betting
- Betting against an outcome through an exchange platform, effectively acting as the bookmaker and accepting liability if the selection wins.
- Outright Winner
- A futures bet placed on which team will win the entire tournament before it begins, with odds reflecting each team's perceived probability of lifting the trophy.
- Over/Under
- A totals market where you bet on whether the combined goals scored in a match will exceed or fall short of a line set by the bookmaker, typically 2.5.
- Overround
- The built-in profit margin a bookmaker embeds across all odds in a market, ensuring they pay out less than true probability would dictate regardless of outcome.
- Parlay
- North American term for an accumulator; multiple selections bundled into one bet where each winning leg rolls the full return into the next, compounding payouts.
- Spread Betting
- A format where winnings or losses scale with how right or wrong your prediction is — for example, backing 'more than 2.5 goals' at a set stake per goal above or below the line.
- VAR Impact Odds
- Markets that specifically account for Video Assistant Referee interventions, such as whether a goal will be ruled out or a penalty awarded after review during a match.
- Void Bet
- A wager that is cancelled and your stake returned, typically triggered when a match is abandoned, a player listed as a scorer never plays, or market rules are breached.
